Video Showing: Santa Fe's Biomass Future
Monday, October 23rd at 1:30 pm
This 30-minute documentary tells the story of Local Energy’s plan to take downtown Santa Fe off of natural-gas heat, and instead provide all of the heating needs using locally sourced biomass fuel. Local Energy’s research, funded by a $1.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, shows that the benefits of the project go well beyond the billions of dollars of increased economic activity the project would generate. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Lecture: Art of Sustainable Energy Sat., October 28th at 10:00 am
Great artists are known for their ability to see beyond the physical realm into other dimensions, and to express the interrelationship of multiple dimensions in their work. Could it be that there is an art to designing our sustainable-energy future? In this talk, Mark Sardella will take us beyond the usual energy topics of pumps, wires, and policies to instead explore how energy choices influence the social, economic, and environmental fabric of our community. Practical means of implementing the theory in Santa Fe will be given. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please visit our website at www.localenergy.org for more information or To see our online version of this newsletter, please visit the following link: |
